2009 Pritzker Prize to Peter Zumthor

It was awarded the Nobel prize for architecture

The 2009 Pritzker Prize for architecture was awarded to Peter Zumthor. The Swiss architect won the Nobel Prize for architecture thanks to the project of renovation of the Vals spa, in Switzerland.

Thus, eight years after Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron, the highest world recognition for this sector goes back to Switzerland, more precisely to Basel.
The 2009 Pritzker Prize will be handed over in Buenos Aires on May 29. Zumthor, 65 years old, will receive 100thousand dollars and the traditional bronze medal of the architecture Award.
