Roberto Cavalli celebrates the start of 2009 with a new club
During these holidays, an obligatory stop for Florentines and not only, is the first Cavalli Club inaugurated a few days ago in the very heart of the capital city of Tuscany.
Roberto Cavalli, in fact, wanted to homage his hometown “recovering and renovating a true jewel, until it is brought back to its ancient splendour: the former-church next to the beloved Carmine Basilica”.
Explaining the choice of such a spot, so loaded with suggestions, for a post modern mood club, the stylist added: “Since I always like to mix the past with the present, merging tradition and innovation, I built on the inside a futuristic club, that was really missing in Florence”.
The Florence Cavalli Club follows in the footstep of the renowned and very popular Just Cavalli Café in Milan. Projected by the same architect, Italo Rota, is based on a new concept of night life. “The Cavalli Club is a perfect representation of the Cavalli world and of the folly and energy that dominate it”, explained the architect. He continued: “exactly like a dress by Roberto, it offers joy and fun, even if just for a night”.
The fascinating historic structure is embellished by contemporary touches made of mirrors, reflexes and golden and steel details. Well, going to the Cavalli Cafe’ will give each time different feelings. Bar, restaurant but also disco, it is a multifaceted space thought to be itself and its own opposite.
After Florence, Roberto Cavalli plans to inaugurate another club in Milan and, in the very close future, in Dubai and New York as well.
