Damiani for “Angels and Demons”
An exclusive collection for the most longed for Hollywood movie
The team of the global phenomenon “The Da Vinci Code” is back with “Angels and Demons”, movie drawn from the best seller by Dan Brown. Shudder and international intrigue are the cornerstones of the movie, at the cinemas all around the world since 13th May 2009. Damiani has been selected by Sony Pictures to take part in the project and to create a partnership that created unique jewels worn by the cast.
Mystery, enigma, suspense and emotions inspired Silvia Damiani, who worked with the famous stylist from the United States Daniel Orlandi in the stylistic and creative search. A search in the past between history and legend, precious jewels able to reveal mysterious languages through the skillful and precise gold work, a careful finish and a search for the absolute perfection. Silvia Damiani and Daniel Orlandi spent few months reading through archives and historical documents, looking for symbols of the tradition, such as the cross, giving them a meaning and bringing them to life through a new style. The actors of the movie actually wore jewels made of gold and precious stones, unique works of art, created especially for this big project.
“It was a great experience and I collaborated with a great commitment and enthusiasm to create the jewels for “Angels and Demons” – said Silvia Damiani, deputy President of the Gruppo Damiani – but even more, as a fan of cinema, it has been very satisfactory to see our creations worn by Hollywood icons”.
From the jewels created for the movie, Damiani drew inspiration for the creation of the collection “Angels & Demons”. The works of this collection, crosses, pendants and rosaries are the outcome of the work of Damiani goldsmiths who managed to donate brightness to pink gold, to the contrast created by the yellow gold, the onyx and the enamel, originating a fascinating stylistic effect through perfectly harmonic elements. Modern and timeless jewels that Damiani created re-interpreting the classicism by renewing it.
