In Milan, the Arts Tower

The skyscraper that will host the works of artists like Arnaldo Pomodoro and Giovanni Frangi will be open by 2010

The arts Tower, under construction in Milano, in via Principe Eugenio, in place of the former offices of Montedison, will host paintings, sculptures, music exhibitions and installations by artists like Nicola De Maria, Mario Ceroli, Giuliano Vangi, Arnaldo Pomodoro, and Giovanni Frangi.

For its construction, which should be finished by 2010, internationally well-known designers and artists are collaborating with the Studio Archea Associati, run by the architect Marco Casamonti. The sculpture-building, for housing use, will recall the traditional architecture of Milan, with particular attention to the Velasca Tower and to the Pirelli skyscraper.

The project, promoted by the Australian financial group Babcock & Brown plans the realization of two buildings, a lower level lined up to the surrounding structures,  and a 96 meters tower, overall more then two hundreds flats, a coffee-lounge, one restaurant and services.
