The superluxury resort

La Mamounia
, legendary luxury resort in Marrakech, will re-open its door on 29th September with a new director, Didier Picqot. After three years of restoration, one of the main icons of Morocco deluxe is back with its popularity in the very heart of the imperial city, mainly thank to architectonic operations undertaken by Jacques Garcia. The new La Mamounia is like an “Arabian Nights” Palace: immersed in a 17 acres park and lush gardens, it was renewed so to host 136 rooms, 71 suites and 3 Riads. Its name too originated in an era of splendour for this land. We go back to the XVIII century, in which Sultan Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah reigned. He had the habit of giving out pieces of lands to each of his children as marriage gifts _ Abdessalam, Mamoun, Moussa and Hassan – later eponymous of the gardens received. It was the very land belonged to Prince Arsat Al Mamoun Mamoun to inspire the name La Mamounia, used as an entertainment venue by the prince and his guests.

From September all this will revive with a grand prestigious lifestyle, united to superfine gastronomy: among the culinary excellencies of the La Mamounia there is L’Italien Restaurant of Alfonso Iaccarino, which has already received Michelin star awards.

Guests will be delighted by five bars, for different sensorial experiences, tea room, library and 2500 sq m made of spa with hammam and wellness treatments that make use of very high quality products.
