At the Big Blue - Rome Sea Expo
Inside the Big Blue – Rome Sea Expo 2009, from 26th February until 2nd March at the Rome Exhibition, will be held the eighth edition of Gommonshow, the Boat show of the paddle boat and of the pleasure navigation. It is the first world boat show in terms of exhibition area and number of paddle boat shipyards, counting both Italian and international exhibitors.
This year focus is on luxury and environment.
There are, in fact, luxury dinghies, from eight to twenty-four meters length and unique in their style, peculiar phenomenon of the Italian shipbuilding.
Addressed to a soaring market, the maxi dinghies are distinguished by their high level performances, the luxury endings and by plant design, that one could normally find on 15 meters onwards yachts. We are dealing with real royal floating residences, combining exclusivity to a paddle boat safety.
Of some of them there will be an absolute preview at the roman exhibition.
New dinghies with luxury details and sportsmanship
Debut of a new dinghy shipyard, CVL Nautica Division Ltd, a branch of the Hollywood society. Inspired by the Italian craftsmanship and style, the shipyard managed to merge the American experiences creating the first paddle boat line marked IMPETUS 36.
Among the new shipyards, there is also KARDIS by Rosate, which will present the definitive versions of the models K 7 Eros, K 8 Mojito, K 10 Matrix and will present in world preview the new models K 6 and K 12; Florence Boat of Florence, coming in with the presentation of a paddle boat range, from 4,90 to 8,20 meters, constantly evolving with high quality finishing and accessorizes; Est Marine of Naples, launching an open cabin range from 25 to 40-foot and the preview of a 10-meters Rib 33, luxury category with 2+1 internal cabin with a 800 horsepower drive, able to drive the boat beyond 60 knots.
Marli Costruzioni Navali makes its debut in the dinghies production with the trade Zeta Elle and the extremely refined range called Zone, with the absolute preview of the 10 meters cabin cruiser Maxi Rib. The series belongs to the category “Natante” and it’s been designed to express a new way of “living the dinghy”, well-designed, for the highest comfort. Safety and high navigation performance, together with scrupulously selected materials. The boat fulfils demands that one could only expect to find in the biggest lengths (12-14 meters): from the deck, characterised by large lateral passageways (about 40 met) on both sides from the stern to the prow, to the wide beaches, one endowed with a peak for mask and flippers, and one with a compartment for a sliding steel ladder.

The Strider series by Sacs has been enriched with a model with “monstrous” performances. The small craft, 12 meters long and over 3,6 meters wide, has been projected to develop new speeds on the water following the criteria and using components borrowed from the competitions world. In fact the keel is endowed with step and the technical equipment is constituted by surface propellers. At the Gommonshow males its debut a special black and white version equipped with news Fiat Powertrain Technologies turbo diesel common rail engines, each of 400 horsepower. The minimal set up is in line with the sportive spirit of the model.
Solemar comes in with the new version of the 28 Offshore, with a greater care for the sportive soul and the harmony of shapes. Larger spaces and better functionality, but especially more attention to details to make it suitable also as super tender for mega-yachts.
Behind the console opens up an original area divided in a living area with an L sofa and, separated by the roller handrail, a double sun area.
Preview in Rome of Conarg, with a 10 meters dinghy of the new Diamond Boat line, luxury category with a two-bed cabin, separated bathroom and available with inboard and outboard motors, with a maximum speed of 800 horsepower.
Altamarea brings to the Boat show the complete range and the 2009 news: the renewed 580 and 7.2 deck and the official presentation of the new 8.30, about which they remain tight-lipped.
Gruppo Mare presents PHYLUM 33, an open highly characterized by simple and fluid lines, suggesting again especially in the stern part what is already present in the cabin cruiser version.
Domar brings in two news:the D10 and D10 Taxi elite, while Zar Formenti takes to Rome its flagship Zar 97 Sky Deck Limited, Italboats the 22’ Stingher and the 730 Predator in world preview, and Mariner the 750 SHO GUN.
Eventually, Mercury Marine will launch the new Black fin elegance 34, Speed Marine will be present with the complete range of cabin cruiser dinghies and BWA with the latest news.
Other novelties of the Big Blue
Among the outboards, there will be presented the latest creations by Suzuki DF70, 80 and 90 with a triple launch of the last four-beats generation, Italmarine and Yamaha Motor Italia with the Tempest 1000 WA, a 10 meters walk around, innovative in its lines and concepts. Numerous other products, from San Remo 930 by Sea Fun to the scarab 27 Tournament.
If one of the queens will be Itama Forty presented by MoMa Italia, exclusive Itama dealer in our country, among the boats here are the news Jeanneau, Costa dell’Est, Chaparral and numerous boats dedicated to fishing, and even the 480 Goldstar by Cantieri Estensi, the Elan 380, the Piper 36 and the Mirable 42 H.T. by Ilver, the Mustang 38 by Cantieri Navali del Tevere, Four Winns V318.
