Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes Amg Sls represents an important turn for the car maker of Stuttgart.
An aluminium bodyshell with gull-wing doors, a V8 engine with 571 hp and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
A super sports-car that is not only the last born of Mercedes-Benz but also the first Amg that, after 40 years of history, as the Performance brand within Mercedes cars, presented the first self-designed car.
The bonnet is very long, about 2 metres; in the back there are the rear window and the short rear with the extendable rear spoiler, when over 80km/h. The front V8 Amg engine of 6,3 litres with of 420 kW/571 hp peak output, dry sump lubrication, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in a transaxle configuration and sports suspension with aluminium double-wishbones.
The roadway, the long wheelbase, the large wheels, guarantee a formidable. On top the optimal weight distribution in a 48 to 52 proportion between front and rear axles and the low centre of gravity, emphasize the outstanding sports car concept of the Mercedes Amg Sls.
