Mirage, spring as seen by Shu Uemura
The new collection that values colour
Make-up Mode, the new collection by Shu Uemura, for the Spring 2009, elevates make-up to the status of art. Mirage, conceived by the Shu Uemura international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide, realized the rising illusion of beauty peculiar of every woman.
We are talking about the 128th Shu Uemura Make-Up Mode collection, an optical phenomenon that slowly unveils itself like a mirage. Enhancing the uniqueness of every woman’s face, the natural spots of light and shadow are highlighted through the use of colour coats and contrasting textures, selected by experts.
Just like impressionist paintings, the colours, if closely observed, almost seem casually applied, but if observed at a certain distance they create the effect of a persistent image, clearly defined. The coats of colour and the textures, appearing on eyes and cheeks, delicately enhance every part of the face, creating a significant dimensionality thanks to sophisticated combinations of light and shadow.
