Monaco Yacht Show 2009
From 23rd to 26th September at the Principality
As every year, the moment has come to gather up at the major event concerning pleasure boating in the Principality of Monaco: the Monaco Yacht Show 2009. After the old ladies of the sea, protagonists of the Monaco Classic Week, the focus turns to super and mega yachts from 23rd to 26th September.
More than 500 companies will present their newest creations, their innovations and about a hundred yachts, among the most beautiful of the world.
Despite the world economic crisis, the 19th edition of the Yacht Show already results being entirely booked thanks to its preeminence among events of this kind and to its role as fundamental platform to establish contacts.
The willingness of searching for excellence and the constant dynamics of renovation are the leitmotivs promoted by organizers. The latter are equally committed to pursuing social responsibility policies, which have already been carried on for a few years. Concretely speaking, the focus is on the commitment to environmental issues, marked by the agreement with Carbon Neutral (since 2005) that guarantees the payment of an eco-tax aimed at financing international and certified “green” projects. Another concrete initiative, coherent with eco-responsible actions, provides for the use of communication supports printed on recycled paper.
Moreover, since 2000, 50% of the proceeds coming from the sale of entrance tickets and of the revenue gained by the organization of a charity auction, is entirely devolved to the Monegasque Association against muscular dystrophy, which supports researches on the Duchenne Dystrophy, the most frequent among children muscular diseases. The third chapter by Only Watch, in association with the Auction Maison Patrizzi & Co. Auctionners, will take place during the Monaco Yacht Show. This charity project involves about thirty Swiss watch-making maisons among the most exclusive ones and challenges them in doing always better by creating exceptional watches that will be up for auction on 24th September. An exhibition of such creations is expected on 23rd and 24th September.
