Rocco Barocco for the young dancers at the Theatre Alla Scala
Fashion designer becomes honorary president of Friends of the Dance Academy
Fashion and culture. Rocco Barocco has been appointed honorary president of the Association Friends of the Dance Academy, becoming at the same time costume designer of all the shows of the youngest dancers of the Theatre Alla Scala and taking on the role so far held by Anna Molinari.
The Association, funded in 2003, is engaged with giving economic support to new talents. Indeed, through scholarships and accomodations, over the last years it made it possible to keep up the excellent level that for nearly two centuries has distinguished the Dance Academy Alla Scala and from which graduated dancers such as Carla Fracci, Roberto Bolle, Luciana Savignano, up to Marta Romagna.
“We try to support young talents who have difficulties – the artistic director of the academy Maurizio Vanadia explains -, because the dancing career is very hard, made of sacrifice and to go on you need a lot of perseverance”. Rocco Barocco, enthusiast of the project, added: “They are very couragious young artists, with the will to go on. One should never lose the hope when doing something with the soul”.
