Surfing with Ferrari
Here is the Surf Scuderia Spider 16M
It’s a limited edition exactly like the car that inspired it: the new Surf 7’2’’ Scuderia Spider 16M, available on sale from summer 2009.
The surf of the Prancing Horse is, in fact, strongly inspired by the latest car GT Ferrari, presented as a preview to the Clients at the Mugello World Cup finals and at the Bologna Motor Show 2008. It’s a special series realized in 499 unique exemplars to celebrate the 16th Car Builder award conquered by the Ferrari Stable at the 2008 F1 World Championship.
The surf table reproduces the livery of the car, characterized by the Italian flag, set along the body, and by the logo. The shape is the result of a research for the creation of an ideal table suitable for easy surfing and adaptable to anyone’s skills. The core is made of polyurethane, covered by a wooden beam that regulated the power and the flexibility of the table. Such internal structure is then covered by a protective wrapping made of glass fibre and solidified by polyester resin. The result is a very reactive table, sensible to waves and perfect for smooth surfing. It’s equipped with three fins, covered by carbon fibre, a personalized shoulder-bag and a certificate of authenticity.
