Vintage cars, from winter to spring
Commemorations and exchange exhibitions
2009 starts off in a big way for vintage cars’ fans, with a great number of celebrations and exchange exhibitions.
The start is marked by tests and commemorations on the snow, with the fourteenth edition of the Orleans Raid des Neiges, and continues with the Winter Marathon and its news in Madonna di Campiglio. The course will have to be faced in reverse, it was slightly prolonged and the timed competition went from thirty to thirty-five.
After the Historic Montecarlo Rally, spring opens it doors with the Coppa Milano Sanremo, that will start from the Autodromo di Monza, will pass through Piazza del Duomo in Milan, the Lomellina, the Gavi area, Genova and will finally arrive to Sanremo.
Regarding the exchange exhibitions, a very important appointment is the Bremen Classic Motorshow, hosted by the German city of Bremen, displaying an apposite pavilion for motorcycles, an exhibition dedicated to Great Britain, an auction presented by Thomas Beneke featuring two-wheeled rarities and a school-garage for classical automobiles.
In Italy, the Automotoretro’ displayed at the Lingotto Fiere in Turin, will offer a very thorough business section and a great number of scheduled events. Space will be given to renovation artisans who will be provided with an apposite area. The centenary of Bugatti will be celebrated with the exposition of a series of automobiles coming from the Mulhouse Museum, belonging to the Schlumpf collection and Italian private collections. The Gilera centenary and the fiftieth anniversary of the Mini will also be celebrated.
More than two thousand cars, but also planes, boats, tractors, trucks, and many more categories will be displayed at the Avignon Motor Festival, that will also present an art gallery, auctions, fashion shows and soirees.
After the Reggio Emilia exchange exhibition, the appointments are in Rome, with Fuoriserie, and in Madrid with Retromòvil.
