Visionnaire Design Gallery in Milan
A surprising restructuring operation in the ex Cinema Cavour
We could have called it the New Paradise Cinema, but we must and we want to call it – VISIONNAIRE DESIGN GALLERY. The ex Cinema Cavour is back to life after a long decade of decline. A place strongly wanted by Samuele Mazza, internationally known figure of diverse background, but always within the fashion sector, in design and luxury and by IPE Cavalli, company leader in the Italian panorama of design which took over from the stylist the Brand “Visionnaire home philosophy”, well-known to the Milanese for the opening of the first historical showroom “Visionnaire” in front of the Rotonda della Besana.
As should always happen, but often does not, an ideal “matrimony” came about between creativity and industry. The company which married this concept is IPE Cavalli, first they took over the brand and then made it world-wide. In 4 years of activity, Visionnaire is distributed all over the world with around 20 monobrand showrooms and almost 300 prestigious shop-in-the-shop. All this thanks to a team captained by Luigi Cavalli, son Leopoldo and daughter Eleonore, in addition to a solid distribution strategy of the Bolognese company, which this very year celebrates 50 years of activity.
It will be the first: showroom-cinema-location-café-gallery, 1600 square metres in Piazza Cavour, 3. The activity of the space will be multi-functional: furniture showroom and lounge-cafè in the daytime, to the unfolding of many events already optioned by various international and exclusive brands, including fashion parades for which the space is congenial. The peculiarities which render this space different with respect to other spaces in the city, are the activities promoted by the company IPE Cavalli and by the creative director, which assisted by a young and glamorous staff, make it live also as a cinematographic location. From 7 pm onwards, the Milanese and all those whom are “in town” may take the opportunity of having an aperitif – light dinner, based on the culinary tendency called “raw food”, by young avantguard chefs. Films will be projected during aperitifs chosen by Giuseppe Baldassare, who will make a careful research of productions never seen in Italy. In order to reconcile a noisy aperitif and the need for absolute silence in order to watch films being projected, a wi.fi. headset will be supplied so one can choose to socialize or comfortably watch the film sitting on the furniture on exhibition. Obviously between an aperitif and a film projection, one can purchase from the range of furniture on exhibition. Artwork, floral designs, carpets and even take away of raw food specialties.
The package will be white and ethereal, right from the entrance there will be an agreeable sensation created by the floral design. An immense stairway will lead towards the central dome which was already a projection room where the mega cinematographic screen has remained. The super bar will be installed In the ex foyer, 18 metres of diamond cut black and special furnishing effects which involve the whole length, powered by Area Kitchen. Along the walls of the whole space will be displayed important works of art chosen by Samuele Mazza and Giancarlo Pedrazzini, patron of Fabbrica Eos.
