World’s most expensive curry
The London Bombay Brasserie spices up its menu
The world’s most expensive curry comes from the central London curry house Bombay Brasserie.
Head chef Prahlad Hegde presents The Samundari Khazana, or Seafood Treasure, a mix of Beluga caviar, sea snails, a whole lobster and edible gold accompanied by rice flavored with saffron.
“There are still people out there with money to spend and this curry is a real experience” said Prahlad Hegde. “The fish and seafood is marinated in chili and tamarind paste, then I slice truffle over the top to give it a nutty flavour.”
The curry has been created in coincidence with the DVD launch of Oscar-winning flick Slumdog Millionaire, which is set in India, and is served with a glass of champagne for a sumptuous price tag of $3,281.
