Creativity and the city
Milan, once more, bets on design and young artists, launching the project Milan Network for Design.

With MIND, 110 young creative artists, selected at national and international level, will be welcomed by 11 schools in Milan, to attend a master and do a final stage at a company in Lombardy.

The initiative was conceived by the Municipality of Milan, together with Triennale Design Museum, Association for Industrial Design and 11 among the most important design schools in the Milan area.

“Thanks to its numbers, its dimensions, its quality and its fame, Design in Milan represents a significant phenomenon” explains councillor Luigi Rossi Bernardi. Thanks to this project, students will have the chance to work and live for a year in the capital of design. Schools will be able to reskill their academic programmes. It will also be an important opportunity for enterprises and the entire economic system.

“I think the MIND project is of great importance for the promotion and dissemination of Italian design in the world together with the Triennale di Milano and Triennale Design Museum, which, through the scientific coordination of this project – said Davide Rampello, president of the Triennale di Milano – are placed on a line of continuity in their mission of enhancing excellence of Italian creativity.”

Coordinator of the initiative is Alintec, company promoted by Assolombarda, Chamber of Commerce and Politecnico di Milano Foundation.

Milan Art Affaire 11-13th December ’09From 11th through 13th December 2009 at the Spazio Pergolesi 8 in Milan will take place the first edition of Miaaf, Milan Art Affairs, fair of contemporary art taken care of by Grace Zanotto and Hamilton Moura Fiho.

The main purpose of the event is to reverse the rules of the current fairs system by putting a special emphasis on those works of art that will come through fashion and compromises.
Nowadays galleries and fairs have become a real business market, hardly characterized by exclusiveness and rather focused on the importance of the artist’s name rather than on the specific value of the artistic emotional impact.

We decided to give prominence to painting, introducing nine very different artists. The event aims to demonstrate that even in the contemporary art scene there is still an ongoing painting knowledge, although contemporary art seems exclusively focused on important and popular names and on being provocative.

The ideal venue for this event is the Spazio Pergolesi 8, former TV studio, now White Cultural Cube.

The artists called together for this first event are nine. Angelo Cruciani has been going through a spiritual path for years that begins from the character of Christ through the Street art Operations until social exhibitions. Alberto Garbati is a popular fashion director and an artist at the same time. He has worked for years on the figurative-material vision of the metropolis. Gatto Nero, writer of the Old School of Milan, is an international protagonist of the Street Art with over twenty years of experience. Pietro Geranzani is a painter searching for an obscure reality expressed through paintings full of uneasiness and of psychological shadows. Fabio Inverni, instead, followed the strand of hyper realism. Walter Ladislao came to the world of fashion in the seventies and since he has carried on a long relationship with Gianni Versace. In 2000 his great passion for painting led him to tackle a deep analysis of the colour bringing up its utmost emotional and expressive potential. Luca Lillo is an example of artist who went from Graphics to Contemporary Art. Technology and soul found a aesthetic and conceptual compromise in his works of art, that counter childlike intimity with the future. Salvatore Melillo gets lost in torment and in the deforming expression of the image to entrap the reality that often only one’s sensibility can bring into focus. Eventually, Roberto Silvestrini Garcia combines the manga with sacred iconography.

The watchmaker Audemars Piguet dedicated its new product, the Royal Oak Offshore Montenapoleone to the boutique Audemars Piguet in Milan. Due to its special features, this item is destined to become a collectible watch

Royal Oak Offshore MontenapoleoneWhat are the features that make a watch a “collectible” one? In this column we have listed several.
To sum them up we could easily say that a watch will be “collectible” if it satisfies at least one of these preconditions: an above-average qualitative construction, as so to remain over time an example oh high watch-making or a precursor of following models; a significant coat of arms, matching it to a story or a set of models whose importance is destined to last over time; being connected to a memorable event, characterizing it even aesthetically, making it original and exclusive; being part of a series of limited samples, individually numbered and on sale only in a specific store. When a model contains all these features, then it is likely that it will be remembered in the future: as it will most definitely happen with the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Montenapoleone, exclusively created for the Audemars Piguet boutique in Milan.

It is a special edition, of only 50 items, characterized by the chromatic choice of the green dial/watch strap, personalized with Montenapoleone written on the bottom. Obviously all the style and construction codes of the Royal Oak Offshore collection are followed: the case is conceived of as to protect the mechanism from any external aggression; octagonal bezel with hexagonal screws; waterproof gasket visible between the case and the bezel; exclusive «Méga Tapisserie» dial; strap perfectly integrated in the case.

It is powered by the in-house 3126 self-winding caliber Audermars Piguet. Among its features: 60 hours power reserve due to the barrel-spring that, by supplying a longer-lasting constant force, increases the walking precision; the stability of the movement is further reinforced by the cross-through balance bridge. The balance is also fitted with eight inertia blocks enabling extremely fine adjustment, while a 22-carat gold ball-bearing mounted rotor ensures bidirectional automatic winding.

To sum up, a fine watch, appreciated by the most demanding collectors and to them dedicated.

Project for Milan to be

From 4 to 28 November, Spazio FMG in Milan will host “Milano work-in-progress 2,” a truly interesting exhibition.
Luca Molinari and Simona Galateo curated the set up of the projects realized by MABarquitectura, Consalez Rossi, Paolo Pasquini and 5+1AA, at the discovery of Milan to be.

Two are the main themes faced by the exhibition: public housing and retail malls. Very different from each other but both offering interesting prospects for experimental, leading-edge design.

“These are new-generation works, designed by some of the most interesting young architects on the Italian scene, and they convey the concept of a different Milan, which looks out towards Europe and expresses the idea of contemporary architecture responsive to its users’ needs, such as the physical and environmental quality of the complexes created,” comment by the exhibition’s curators Molinari and Galateo.

The winners of “Living Milan,” MABarquitectura and Consalez Rossi put their works on public display on Via Gallarate and Via Civitavecchia. Both projects are currently almost finished.

“Milano work-in-progress 2” also focuses on the subject of new retail developments through the design for the Food Park in the Maciachini area realized by Paolo Pasquini and the Retail ParkArea at Milanofiori by 5+1AA.

“With ‘Milano work-in-progress 2’, Spazio FMG continues its investigation of the near future and reinforces its mission as a space open to quality architecture and a responsible approach to the destiny of our habitat,” concluded Luca Molinari and Simona Galateo.

The new Concept Store Trussardi 1911, overlooking Piazza della Scala in Milan, is the first boutique of the maison entirely dedicated to lifestyle, including fashion accessories, as well as household and art magazine

The Concept Store Trussardi 1911On Piazza della Scala, in Milan, right next to the theatre, lies a monumental curved door, made of natural brass (resembling the hotel that until the Thirties used to lie on this place) presenting to the world Trussardi 1911.
The concept store Trussardi 1911 is the first boutique of the maison entirely dedicated to lifestyle with a sophisticated selection of accessories of men and women collections, households (candles and furnishing) but also magazines, newspapers and art publications to comfortably leaf through at a table.

A section of the space, with a seven-marble qualities wall on the background, coming from India, iran, China and South America, is dedicated to flowers: clients can admire a rich variety of orchids exclusively distributed by Trussardi 1911. The new concept store is open at night as well: it’s open everyday until 10 pm. Conceived and designed by the creative directore of Trussardi 1911 Milan Vukmirovic, able to interpret with his contemporary sensibility the excellences of the maison of the Greyhound, the new shop re-creates all the ground floor of Piazza della Scala.

The Café Trussardi as well, inaugurated in April 2008 (with the déhors designed by the architect Carlo Ratti and the vertical installation of green created by Patrick Blanc) now unites and shares its spaces with those of the boutique, creating a unique 400 s-m environment whose floor is made of over a thousand wooden staves painted with craftsmanship. On the first floor of the building lies the restaurant Trussardi Alla Scala, decorated with two stars from the Michelin Italia 2009 guide book, which has recently re-opened after a complete restoration.

Each of the group activity is directed by a young international talent: Milan Vukimirovic, creative director of Trussardi 1911, Massimiliano Gioni, artistic director of the Foundation Nicola Trussardi, Andrea Berton, director of the restaurant Trussardi Alla Scala and of the Café Trussardi. All the activities are created and coordinated by Beatrice Trussardi, who is managing director and head of the group. In particular, in fashion department, Trussardi 1911 represented for the group a great revolution but is a synthesis of the values that have always characterized the Trussardi world: craftsmanship, made in Italy production, use of prestigious materials, definition of the cuts, care of the tiniest details but also an eclectic and contemporary taste redefining the idea of luxury.

Milan Vukmirovic represents a way of working very close to today’s rhythms and values: as a designer, director of a magazine like L’Officiel, buyer for a multibrand like The Webster in Miami and as a photographer has a wide overlook over all the variables of the fashion world. It’s rather the perspective and the outlook rather than Trussardi’s taste that have changed: Trussardi today is much closer to new generations whose values he represents (mobility, eclecticism, speed but also the great care for details and the taste for prestigious craftsmanship) and it is a luxury brand whose quality is easily be recognized.

Besides Trussardi 1911 there are Tru Trussardi and TJ: both expressing a more informal world, the former dedicated to the city and its rhythms, with its soft but elegant style, the latter for the spare time. Variety is one of the elements of the winning formula by Trussardi: each moment of the day and each occasion can be accompanied by a Trussardi experience.

The restaurant Trussardi Alla Scala is acknowledged as one of the greatest experiences of the new Italian Cuisine and, while it has been growing within its own walls cultivating an informal, elegant and cosmopolitan environment, it has also contributed to renovate the centre of Milan, offering a new outpost of absolute quality. The chef Andrea Berton has been able to combine experiments with a certain rigour in his proposals: the restaurant Trussardi Alla Scala is, in fact, a place where the culinary technique is never showed off and where the pure taste gets the better of complexity or of the research per se.
One of the keys to the success of the restaurant Trussardi Alla Scala has obviously been placing again the clients at the centre of the gastronomic experience: The great novelty of the restaurant has been the recent restoration of the room to make it even closer to the new identity of the brand. With a new inspiration, taken from the urban atmospheres of the contemporary world, the clients can now choose whether to spend the evening looking out on the spectacular view of Piazza Alla Scala, comfortably seating on soft armchairs, or in a more dynamic environment, right at the centre of an open kitchen with a monumental golden wall in the background. It is very important for Trussardi to keep the public away from the idea of a classic starry restaurant where one can almost be in trouble because of the gastronomic research.

Eventually the Trussardi Foundation is currently busy organizing a project which is still at an early stage when it’s preferable not to spread news. The Foundation became popular in the city because of quick and sudden events, but also because of more private and introspective projects, like the last exhibition at Palazzo Dugnani showing the films by the English artist Tacita Dean. The Foundation has a gipsy and varied identity that led it to gain over the past years an important role not only among the institutions of contemporary art in the world, but in the collective imaginary of the city.

Alessandra Iannello

Grazia Belloni, deputy President of Camomilla, tells Luxgallery about the success of Camomilla for Hello Kitty all over the world, and namely of the recent baby collection matching their mothers' ones

Grazia Belloni, deputy President of CamomillaHello Kitty becomes more and more trendy thanks to the Grazia Belloni’s – deputy President of Camomilla, the licensee of the character of Sanrio for numerous Made in Italy products – creativity. In fact, the new catalogue of the collection Camomilla for Hello Kitty (the Buccinasco firm is the one in the world working both as producer and distributor) becomes more and more complete and articulated. These last weeks has been launched Miss Kitty, a set of handbags and shoes for a trendy girl. For the youngest is also the collection Mamy and me where you can find in the baby sizes the same models of the woman collection in order to be dressed up as the mother.

With these new collections your creativity doesn’t have any age limit.
We thought to accompany women in every stage of their life. So, besides the novelty of the baby collection, we created a set of car products, ranging from stickers to ornament the bodywork, to the cat-shaped seat cover, to the trash bin. Another novelty is the cushions collection which contain, inside, a silhouette blanket or a remote cover to chill out on the sofa at night. In order to be even more glamorous, we created also a collection of finger watches made of sparkling crystals.

By now Camomilla does not simply follow the guidelines of the Japanese head office, but comes up with her own items.
Camomilla for Hello Kitty has become preponderant in the generation of our turnover. One needs thinking that the firm 2009 turnover, closed on 30th June, was of 37 millions euro (it was 30 millions last year) 60% of which gathered thanks to the Hello Kitty world. The success of Camomilla for Hello Kitty is due to the coherence of the project that gives to everything which represents the Italian lifestyle the mawkish imprint of the pink cat. Camomilla for Hello Kitty is the Italian side of Hello Kitty. We create with the same brand wine, sofas, and armchairs as well as glasses and many more households and accessorizes. For instance, from Brianza come armchairs and chaise longue, from Como silk foulards and scarfs, and from the wine cellars Torti Tenimenti Castelrotto of the Oltrepò Pavese sparkling wine, strictly rosè and other wines made of their best grapes.

The made in Italy by Camomilla for Hello Kitty is also the protagonist in the Sanrio stores all over the world.
It’s true, inside the Sanrio Luxe in New York we have a corner dedicated to Camomilla for Hello Kitty, where one can find all our products, from furniture to clothing and accessorizes. This corner is the format that we will duplicate in all the Sanrio Luxe store of the world already at work and in those whose opening is close. Other stores where to find Camomilla for Hello Kitty, besides the nearly 3,000 multibrand all over the world, are the two stores in Milan, the one in Times Square in New York, the one in Verone and Rome, to which will be added those in Paris, Barcelona and Madrid.

Boscolo Hotel Exedra, the first urban hotel in Milan, was recently opened on Corso Matteotti, overlooking the Duomo. Roberto Boscolo explains how the five-star-luxury came into being.

Face to face with Roberto Boscolo

It comes into being the first urban hotel in Milan. Situated on the very central Corso Matteotti, overlooking the Duomo’s pinnacles, the new Boscolo Hotel Exedra opens its doors to the city. The five-star-luxury owned by the Italian chain, was conceived as a proper gathering and communication venue for all those people that experience the city of Milan: what is key are in fact the services offered, from the catering that is open 24/7, to the Spa (which closes at midnight), to the area reserved to exhibitions and art shows.

The Exedra stems out of the talent of architect Italo Rota who entirely revisited the palace on Corso Matteotti that formerly hosted the headquarters of the Imi Bank. Hotel rooms are all different from each other, so to highlight the importance of customization. The hotel hosts over 150 rooms, from the Superior Room to the Presidential Suite, whose prices range between 800 and 7000 euros per night. Clients can choose among three restaurants: one mainly serving boiled and roast meat, the second mainly serving fish and the third, serving international cuisine, is situated on the eighth floor and has a terrace with view over the Duomo.

To enrich even more the eating-venues scenario, there are Lambruscheria, managed by F&De Group (specialized in eno-gastronomic traditions of the Po Valley) and champagnerie. The Spa Suisse, stretching over 1000 sq meters, is provided with a pool with falls, sauna, hammam and six massage cabins. Among the treatments, there is also a champagne-elixir peeling with rose petals and a beauty treatment with ultrasonic-wave technologies. The director of the newly inaugurated hotel is Roberto Boscolo.

Why did you choose to open a hotel in Milan?
Milan is not a capital but it actually is as if it were one: fashion, economy, design are here. We want this hotel to be the very first work built for the 2015 Expo; the Exedra was indeed conceived not only as a hotel but also as a gathering venue for the Milanese and Milan’s guests. I wish to underline the fact that 70% of the hotel area is public. This kind of hotel launches a new way of being in the hotellerie sector. In fact this format will be maintained for the construction of the new 5 star hotels of the group and for the renovation of existing ones.

What are the common areas?
The setting of the street side conveys the idea of a city entering the hotel. In fact, big glass windows open up on Corso Matteotti, as if the people inside were the protagonists of the stage and those outside could enjoy the view of internal spaces. The common areas are the three restaurants that already exist, plus one that will be inaugurated in a few weeks and that will be headed by a very important chef whose name cant yet be revealed. The Lambruscheria, champagnerie and the day Spa are also open to anyone.

How did you choose this location?
I was visiting the building with my father Angelo, when it was still occupied by the Bank. He was walking down the aisles and could already imagine how the hotel would have been. Then he told me: “Within nine months, I will create a hotel that has no precedents, and then you manage it for the years to come.” I accepted the offer and that’s how this jewel came into being.

What can you tell us about the Boscolo group?
Today, the Boscolo Hotels Group owns seven five-star hotels that create the BoscoloHotels5 chain, and sixteen four-star hotels, the BoscoloHotels4. Atop of this there is the Boscolo Travel inside, a tour operator that specializes on group and individual trips in Italy and Europe; the division Hotel Engineering dealing with project management services for the hotel industry; the Boscolo Food % beverages; the Boscolo Academy (School of culinary arts); and the Boscolo Catering. All this means: 2000 employees, and an annual turnover that in 2008 amounted to 270 million euros.

What are your future projects?
In 2010 we will open a new four-star hotel, in Milan, hosting 300 rooms, three restaurants and a conference centre with the capacity to host 1000 people. The architect in charge of the project will be Simone Micheli that has already realized the Exedra Spa. By the end of next year we should also be opening another five-star hotel in Bari that a key-city for the southern part of Italy, but that has suffered for years the lack of a high-standard hotel facility.

Pisa Orologeria in Milan “offered” the fans of high watch-making the chance to see live masterpieces of micromechanics at the extraordinary Only Watch auction on 24 September.

High watch-making on show

How many times we happened to come across, on the screen of our computers or flipping through the pages of magazines, the watches of our dreams? Those little masterpieces of micromechanics aimed at few and wealthy collectors? Tough, if not impossible, is to study them live. But Pisa Orologeria in Milan “offered” the fans of high watch-making this chance, hosting a two-day event on 17 and 18 September 2009. The exhibition presented pieces that were later auctioned at the extraordinary Only Watch auction on 24 September. The event usually takes place every two years during the Monaco Yacht Show, under the sponsorship of Prince Albert II, and is organized by the Patrizzi & Co.

On show there are all the 35 models that the most important watch-making brands created just for the special auction, whose proceeds will be entirely devolved to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research.

From the builders’ point of view, the Only Watch auction has to rightly be considered a significant showcase. It is a way to explicitly show their skills in realizing small and big watch-making masterpieces, and their generosity towards causes that are worth of attention.

From the fans’ point of view, on the other hand, this is an ideal occasion to spend money with the best of intentions, purchasing proper unique pieces whose value is inevitably meant to increase with time.

Among the exhibited models, it is worth pointing out the very first exemplar of the Monaco V4 by Tag Heuer. This watch, presented at Basel 2004, was the object of infinite discussions and speculations, so much so to transform the announcement of its upcoming entry in the market, in a much awaited event. The meeting, for all lovers, is at Pisa Orologeria, Milan, Via Verri/Via Montenapoleone 9, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6 pm. Free entrance: although it will be difficult to get rid of the desire to wear a new super-watch…

September is the month of art and vernissage for fans of art, science and fashion with the Italian Nineteenth Century as protagonist of many exhibitions

From Milan to TokyoSeptember is the month of art and vernissage. We have already seen numerous events. And here are other exhibitions, for art, science and fashion lovers.

The Nineteenth Century in Italy is protagonist of many exhibitions. Until 2nd May it will be possible to visit the Art Gallery Moderna Ricci Oddi of Piacenza “Painting of Tuscany at the Ricci Oddi – Compared Collection”. On exhibition 40 oil paintings, all in little, constituting a private collection from Lombardy. They are exceptional works of art of the nineteenth Century in Tuscany made by the main protagonists of the Macchiaioli movement. Near the well-known masters, Giovanni Fattori, Silvestro Lega, Telemaco Signorini and Vincenzo Cabianca, stands out the group of the so-called “Italians in Paris”, Giovanni Boldini, Federico Zandomeneghi and Giuseppe De Nittis. It is acknowledged that small size formats, often realized on portable tables, were created when artists worked “en plein air”, while observing and reproducing the true directly on-site, creating a genre very demanded by collectors.

In Rancate, in the Ticino canton, in on the agenda, from 20th Septemeber through 10th January, “From Fattori to Previati: a rediscovered collection – Riccardo Molo, art collector between Switzerland and Italy” at the Art gallery Giovanni Zust. Comes back, after being hidden for 75 years, the art collection of Riccardo Molo, businees man born in Ticino, active between the Nineteenth and Twentieth Century within Ticino, Berlin, Rio de la Plata, in Argentina, and especially in Italy. Absolutely Italian is the art collection that Riccardo Molo managed to create in his villa of Balerna, throughtout the 1920s: Previati, Mosè Bianchi, Segantini, Delleani, Cabianca, Pasini, Fattori, Delbono, in a project, typical of those years, of collecting the top of every single “regional school”.
Molo’s passion for the Nineteenth century painting was expression of the general rediscover in the 1920s of the Macchiaioli and of the painting of the previous century. Moreover, taking advantage of the entry on the market of a great number of works of art by Gaetano Previati, Molo bought also few important paintings of the pointillist master, among which a preliminary version of Motherhood (1891), masterpiece in the artist’s career.

For fans of modern art, there is an event going back over the passion of a great collector and patron of arts, Francesco Martani. Here are “Classic splendours. Timeless passions at the Matilde’s court” at the Cloister of San Benedetto at San Benedetto Po from 19th September to 10th January. They have been selected works of art coming from the Italian collection of the Fondazione Ca’ La Ghironda of Zola Predosa, of the time going from the Renaissance of Bologna through three centuries of the Italian painting recalling the painting beyond the Alps.
This collection of paintings from the Sixteenth, Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century, expresses the plurality of themes across many areas of Italy and abroad and the high quality of the selected works: Annibale Carracci, Guido Reni, il Guercino, Francesco Francia, Luca Giordano da Napoli, Giovan Battista Garulli called the Baciccio, Jan van Kessel, Anton Van Dyck are few of the artists on exhibition. The themes are various: the sacred and the profane, the still natures by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer, the gender scenes by Todeschini, the portraits by Bernardo Strozzi and the landscapes by Peruzzini.

The Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century come back, seen from a different point of view, in the historico-scientific iconographic exhibition “Galileo, Venice and the Moon”, from 27th September through 18th October at the San Servolo Island passing from 19th October through 16th November at Palazzo Zorzi in Venice to end up from December until January in Asiago. Here is again Galileo protagonist of an important exhibition. The exhibition is one of the top moments of one of the most important assizes of this International Year of Astronomy and it goes through, physically, an itinerary that from Adriatic of Venice goes up ideally to Cima Ekar on the Asiago Plateau, that is from Galilean observations of the Moon to one of the biggest Italian telescopes of the modern astronomic research. The exhibition aimes to show, through pictures of the XVI and XVII Centuries and recent pictures, the places (few of which disappeared) visited by Galileo in Venice during those eighteen years when he was teaching at the University of Padova. Are on exhibition the drawings of the moon that Galileo made when he first discovered that the Moon is not smooth and perfect as believed for almost two thousands years. There are also the numerous maps of the Moon that throughout the Seventeenth, Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century went through the path of evolution of the Moon cartography strictly related to the improvement of the telescope optics.

To another great genius is dedicated “Leonardo’s laboratory. The codes, the machines and the drawings” at the Castello Visconteo of Vigevano from 13th September through 5th April. Thanks to advanced technologies the public will get to know the most important codes of the Great genius and unpublished physical and digital reconstructions of extraordinary instruments like the Flying Car, the mechanic Lion, besides coming in touch with drawings and paintings presented with the HyperView technology. For the first time the visitors will be able to virtually show off, thanks to the Virtual Codex technology, the Atlantic Code, the Code of Flight and the Manuscript B by Leonardo da Vinci. Will follow, in October, “Court Splendours. Sforzas, Renaissance, the City” that will analyze the bonds between the city of Vigevano, the Sforza principality, the character of Leonardo da Vinci and the artistic testimonies all over the Lomellina area.

Obviously there are as well exhibitions dedicated to the art of today, in more and less common exhibition venues. The Courthouse of Milan becomes an unusual space for contemporary art with Justice and its symbols, exhibition combining about thirty works of art by Basil Beattie, Mitsuo Miyahara and Aldo Rota, who worked using as source of inspiration the theme of justice, dialoguing with the big masterpieces located in the structure and the big materiality of the building designed by Marcello Piacentini.

Always in Milan, the Japanese Koji Yamamoto is the object of Another Nature, from 18th September through 31st October at the Lorenzelli Arte.

The monumental works of Xavier Veilhan will be protagonists, instead, in Paris, at the Versailles Royal Palace, until 13th December. “Veilhan Versailles” presents eight creations, in bronze, sheet metal and glass fibre in the gardens and on the stairs of the palace. Besides a six-horses carriage, the statue of a naked woman, statues of contemporary architects, a giant Yuri Gagarin lying near his helmet reminds the man’s greatest adventure. Who is in the French capital can admire also the exhibition of the Louvre “Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese – Rivals in Renaissance”, with works of the three Masters of the Venecian Renaissance art.

It collects more than fifty works of eleven artists, Italian and Israeli, witnessing the artistic tendencies of the generations born between the Sixties and Eighties, “CAMPOLUNGO. The sensitive horizon of the Contemporary time”. The exhibition, planned from 15th September through 10th October, at the Complesso Vittoriano of Rome, hosts works by Valerio Berruti, Enrico T. De Paris, Shay Frisch, Federico Guida, Riccardo Gusmaroli, Min Jung Kim, Francesco Lauretta, Domingo Milella, Barbara Nahmad, Sharon Pazner and Alex Pinna.
The title refers exactly to the technical expression “campo lungo”, used for a certain type of film shot. This exhibition, originated form an idea of Vittoria Coen and by the art dealer Ermanno Tedeschi, expresses the distance on which focus the attention of the selected artists. The “campo lungo” allows to see exhibited pencil and brush, oil and acrylic, straight and curved lines not proudly adverse anymore, paper, canvas, metals, materials challenging time in paintings, installations, sculpture, pictures and videos.

Obviously there are exhibitions for fashion fans. The sculpture-clothes by Roberto Capucci can be discovered from 17th September through 13th December at the Castello Odescalchi of Bracciano with “Sovereign Elegance”. Beyond sixty the creations of the tailor, in a continuous dialogue between fashion and other forms of art like the Renaissance painting, music and theatre.

Dialogue that characterizes “The Art of Fashion” from 19th September through 10th January 2010 at the museum Boijmans van Beuningen of Rotterdam.
During the exhibition time, will be commissioned special projects to artists and designers like Viktor & Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Walter van Beirendonck, Anna Nicole Ziesche and Naomi Filmer. Moreover, the exhibition will host also works of other artists like Dai Rees, Jana Bartak, Martin Margiela.

The most beautiful creations Cartier will be protagonists in Pekin, at the Palace Museum, until 22nd November. Over 350 jewels dating back to the years between the foundation of the firm and 1970 emphasize the Chinese influence on the stylistic choices of the brand.

Creativity and solidarity with Coca-Cola LightCoca-Cola light once again gets closer to fashion with Tribute to Fashion, event planned on 24th September, at the opening of the fashion week, in Milan, within the wonderful and striking framework of the Court Yard of Palazzo Reale.
